The shooting guard, also known as the two or off guard, is one of the five positions in a regulation basketball game. A shooting guard's main objective is to score points for his team. A position in basketball generally reserved for the taller guard, or the guard who prefers to play off the ball. A prototypical shooting guard is expected to be the main shooter on the roster and typically plays on the wing.
